Men of BMF-
A few months ago, a friend invited me to a Cru campus ministry meeting. I used to go regularly, but with my involvement on the FCA student leadership team and my church’s college Bible study, I hadn’t been in a while. Funny enough, the night we showed up they were talking about summer missions opportunities — the exact same topic that had been discussed the last time I went. At the end of the meeting, the Cru staff mentioned that a ministry called The Traveling Team was coming to speak the following week, and that they only visit every three years. Once I heard that, I knew I had to go back — and I’m so glad I did.
They shared about God’s heart for every person on earth, and a verse that really resonates with me in that regard is Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” The gift of the gospel is for everyone, everywhere. And I want to be part of spreading it — to be God’s hands and feet to people who don’t yet know that good news.
After that night, The Traveling Team reached out for a follow-up call, and by the end of it I was invited to attend the Intensive Training (IT) Project this summer in Costa Mesa, CA. The IT Project is a missions discipleship program hosted by The Traveling Team — a non-profit, interdenominational college ministry that travels the country helping students understand the biblical basis of missions and God’s heart for the world.
The program trains college students from across the country in the biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic dimensions of missions. It gives us opportunities to learn about the five major world religions and equips us in evangelism, discipleship, and the World Christian lifestyle. Part of the experience includes visiting local temples and engaging people from diverse cultural backgrounds throughout the summer. It’s not just classroom learning — we’ll be going out to apply what we’ve learned and growing just as much from the experiences themselves.
As I’ve been building my team of support partners, your name came to mind. I would love for you to partner with me — through prayer, a financial gift, or both! To attend the program, I need to raise $4,500 by May 31st. If you feel led to give, gifts of $75, $100, $200, $250 or more would be greatly appreciated and a tremendous help.
Please take some time to pray about it. I’m answer any questions you might have. I’m really looking forward to talking with any of you.
Thank you for the love and support you’ve already shown me. I am more grateful than you know.
Sincerely,
Micah Hall
